Principle Duties:
- Develop software for the company's laboratory analytical Instruments.
- Contribute to the design of new products, specifically the software and system architecture.
Essential experience:
- Developing and delivering GUI applications for Linux/Windows using WinForms, Qt/QML for real products, e.g. scientific instrumentation, medical devices, industrial equipment, laboratory instruments, Mechatronics etc.
- Proficiency in C# and/or C++ (or demonstrable experience of Java etc.)
- Working directly and collaboratively with colleagues across all business functions and multiple projects
Desirable experience:
- Developing and delivering real time embedded software
- Basic understanding of product certification (EMC, RED, LVD, MD)
- Broad understanding of electrical and electronic systems (low-voltage).
- Experience of digital closed loop control and signal processing
- Experience integrating system hardware (including specifying, evaluating COTS products)
- Experience with bare metal programming and communication protocols (e.g. I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet, RS232)
- Schematic design / PCB layout
- Ability to maintain existing software and hardware.
