SalaryWe are seeking SWE audio professionals for Meta Reality Labs. Our teams are defining the audio experience for hundreds of millions of users across the Meta family of apps including Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, Portal, Oculus and more. We cover all areas of audio processing such as echo cancellation, noise reduction, dereverberation, low bitrate codecs, packet loss, jitter compensation, audio pipeline, ARVR headsets and other consumer devices. The Reality Labs teams are helping people around the world come together and connect through hardware and software. We are bringing products to consumers that transform entertainment and social experiences with global departments dedicated to research, computer vision, haptics, social interaction, and more. We believe that a key component of our mission is to improve and enhance human hearing and audio sensing. We’re seeking experienced Audio Software Engineers to join our various teams in ARVR. We are looking for passionate and articulate technologists, who love jumping in to solve novel problems, and enjoy working with talented interdisciplinary teams.
- Drive the organization’s goal towards developing real time AR and VR audio algorithms and/or Android systems techniques that will impact Reality Labs product lines
- Partner & collaborate with organizational leaders to help improve the level of performance of the team & organization
- Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail while advocating for higher product quality and engineering efficiency
- Understand industry and Meta wide technology trends in computing technology to help assess & develop new technologies within the Reality Labs roadmap
- Invent next-generation platforms to deliver state of the art audio driver, audio firmware, signal processing or audio AOSP layer
- Collaborate closely with both the research and product teams to deploy new technologies including augmenting systems and algorithms to make them robust to shipping scenarios
- Identify areas of performance, quality and reliability improvement for audio quality across desktop, mobile and web endpoints
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in C++ programming language
- 5+ years of experience with real time audio
- Experience leading consumer-based projects with industry-wide impact
- Cross-functional partnership, working across functions to drive solutions
- Experience in mentoring/influencing senior engineers across organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with audio system design including silicon through user experience
- Expertise in audio signal processing and auditory perception, both classical and machine learned techniques
- Proven track record of innovation as demonstrated by products shipped, publications and/or patents
- BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field
