The Center for Urban Community Services, a national leader in the development of effective housing and service initiatives for homeless people, is recruiting for a Social Worker (MSW Required), to join the Webster/Park House team.
The Park House and Webster Ave residences are supportive housing sites in the Tremont section of the Bronx for low-income and formerly homeless families and individuals. Both buildings are on the same plot of land and connected by an outdoor courtyard area. CUCS staff provide social services at both sites. The Webster houses 170 single tenants and Park House houses 20 special needs single tenants. Park House and Webster both opened in 2018. Staff see clients at the office and in their homes. The services include case management, mental health services and person-centered service planning. The program has a Janian psychiatrist, Janian Primary Care Provider, and a Career Network employment specialist. All staff receive training in evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, Wellness Self-Management and Cultural Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
The Social Worker (MSW/LMSW) will provide a full range of person-centered, strengths-based clinical services to a caseload of approximately 22-26 individuals with the objective to help people live full and satisfying lives in the community. Services include case management, entitlements assistance, counseling, advocacy, referrals and information, crisis intervention, engagement, monitoring, regular outreach, medication assistance, psycho-education, escorting to various appointments within the community, and coordination of care with outside service providers.
The Social Worker is additionally expected to assist in program planning, development and implementation of group services with particular emphasis on mental health, chemical dependency and services to people living with HIV/AIDS. Additional responsibilities include involvement in evidence based practices such as Supported Employment and Motivational Interviewing, as well as close collaboration with the team's Clinical Supervisor in leadership of the team to meet contractual obligations and achieve program success while fulfilling CUCS's core purpose, values and vision. The Social Worker is also expected to actively participate in program conversations and positive change activities in regard to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The Social Worker will receive weekly clinical supervision that meets the requirements for LCSW hours and will have access to all CUCS agency trainings.

Requirements
- MSW required; LMSW preferred
- CUCS requires that all full-time Social Workers who provide services within the LMSW scope of practice to be licensed within 6 months from date of hire
- Related experience in the mental health field, and/or working with HIV positive or homeless individuals is strongly preferred
- Excellent outreach, assessment, written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy required
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Recent and upcoming graduates and experienced clinicians encouraged to apply
