Overview:

Staley Meat Market Company, a leading provider of high-quality meat products, is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Slaughterhouse Floor Employees. This role is crucial to our operations, as it involves various tasks related to the humane and efficient processing of livestock in our slaughterhouse facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of animal welfare and food safety.

Responsibilities:

1. Livestock Handling:

- Safely and humanely handle live animals, in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

- Assist with the unloading and loading of livestock from trucks or holding areas, ensuring the animals are handled with care and respect throughout the process.

2. Pre-Slaughter Preparation:

- Prepare animals for slaughter by guiding them through designated holding areas and stunning pens in a calm and controlled manner.

3. Cleaning and Sanitation:

- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by regularly cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and work areas.

- Dispose of waste and by-products in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements, ensuring proper handling and disposal methods are followed.

4. Quality Control:

- Monitor animals throughout the slaughter process to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.

5. Safety Compliance:

- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries in the workplace.

- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety guidelines when handling equipment and working in potentially hazardous areas.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a similar role within a slaughterhouse or meat processing facility is preferred but not required.

- Knowledge of animal handling and welfare principles is beneficial.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks with efficiency and precision.

- Strong attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures.

- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.

- Willingness to work in a physically demanding and potentially challenging environment.

Education and Certification:

- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
