Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is a leading refiner and recycler of precious group metals. The growing demand for low carbon and responsibly sourced products is creating growth opportunities in critical metals recycling and secondary refining, and as the world's largest precious metals recycler, PGMS is a key player in the circular economy.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Supply Chain Manager, is responsible for setting and delivering all planning and precious metal control activities. The incumbent is expected to deliver outstanding customer service, optimization of associated processes and reduction in working capital, as well as developing, implementing best in class plant scheduling, and optimizing practices. This role is a key member of the site leadership team and expected to be a significant site influencer and change agent.

Your responsibilities:

EHS
  • Support EHS principles to ensure that EHS is given top priority and good practice is followed at all times.


Planning and Material/Precious Metal Control
  • Department leads and organizes all quarterly and annual fiscal inventories.
  • Lead the site Planning/Scheduling, Logistics, Warehousing, Master Data and Metal risk teams, inspiring the team to drive outstanding performance in Customer satisfaction and Inventory control
  • Own the Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) 1-3 month plan for the business. Ensure issues are understood and contingencies developed where required.
  • Sign-off of longer-term plan by defining and understanding the site capability taking into account any future resource and plant changes to close gaps from current.
  • Fully implement and manage the Master Production Scheduling (MPS) process, ensure full collaboration with the Engineering, Operations and Projects teams to agree and deliver a joined-up plan.
  • Set the pace and drive the operation to deliver against business objectives / KPI's through effective MPS.
  • Ensure that the Production Planning Team are challenging Operations leaders to deliver against the plan and to recover any arrears.
  • Expedite critical issues and Escalate through the chain of command as appropriate.
  • Develop the production planning team, ensure that they are developing the close working relationships with manufacturing, customer services, the wider supply chain team, technical and management. Ensure that there is a skills matrix and there is a plan to cover for each role in the Supply Chain department.
  • Work closely with the customer service team, develop customer satisfaction KPI's, drive improvement in customer satisfaction and ensure that customer complaints are investigated, and corrective action is established.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing operations to ensure that target level inventory is achieved.
  • Ensure that management reporting is performed efficiently and effectively, and drive continuous improvement of data analysis, and reporting
  • Ensure that the Production Control team are supporting the continuous improvement projects with participation in testing and development of business processes,
  • Lead the planning and coordination of the yearly stock take process via Materials Control in conjunction with production to ensure good preparation prior to listing day and control of material post listing day.
  • Ensure material control processes are effective to good control of book stocks during the course of the year including effective monitoring of material off site for processing or toll refining.
  • Responsible for all shipping compliance, liaise with global SME's on Dangerous Goods requirements and global trade requirements.
  • Responsible for all of the day-to-day site warehousing activity and long-term material storage strategy.


Shipping/Logistics
  • Drive the pack and ship process to maximize opportunity for higher OTIF and customer satisfaction scores. Ensure weekly review of OTIF positively addresses issues to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Communicates directly with area managers, sales personnel, customers, corporate metal management staff and international refiners both within and outside the company to effectively coordinate the receiving, shipping, treatment, refining and return of all precious metals to achieve the lowest level of net metal holdings possible.


Systems/Data
  • Ensure that the team are developing advanced IT Skills that development all critical reporting,
  • Ensure that the team become proficient with legacy business systems (CRS / Data 3 and KBM)
  • Encourage and grow the team's use of new business intelligence tools like MS Power BI and Traksys.
  • Lead a master data team with the goal of moving the site to improved data driven decision making. Includes implementing new data gathering, database (SQL) management and data visualization tools.
  • Manage the process of Designing, specifying, developing and implementing production control process improvements in collaboration with the Advanced supply chain team.
  • Represent the operational supply chain team in the development of new ERP & inventory control systems development.


People
  • Will lead and develop a mid-sized planning/supply chain team(s).
  • Develop teams to improve efficiency of group and lead to broadening of scope of individuals.


Requirements for the role:
  • Advanced knowledge of supply chain & logistics management
  • 3+ years of working experience and expertise with S&OP/IBP processes
  • Degree or higher in Supply Chain or Logistics desirable
  • Experience in managing complex data and unique Chemical processes desirable
  • MS Excel - advanced level desirable
  • Experience in inventory management
  • Experience in logistics and warehouse management desirable
