POSITION SUMMARY
Klassic Kids is a licensed childcare, fee-based program offered at multiple sites throughout San Diego County. First and foremost, this position ensures the safety, security, and well-being of the children enrolled.
The Site Director is responsible for the overall management and administration of the site. This position is responsible for compliance with CCL regulations, agency policies and procedures and best practices. The Site Director is mandated to take all the necessary steps, including providing direct service, to ensure the safety, security and well-being of each child enrolled in the program. The Site Director is responsible for supporting the healthy social/emotional development of children enrolled in the program in line with School Age Childcare Programs best practices.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring all Community Care Licensing regulations, Harmonium and Klassic Kids program policies and procedures are met and followed
Responsible for ensuring that all children are being visually supervised at all times and are safe from physical and verbal abuse, exploitation and prejudice
Create a safe, positive and enriching environment for every child in the program
Responsible for working at least 90% of all program hours
Participate in group and individual reflective supervision
Attend and participate in required Klassic Kids and Harmonium meetings and trainings
MINIMUM COMPETENCIES
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must meet the minimum education requirements per CA State Licensing Standards:
Completion, with passing grades, of 15 semester units in Child Development (CD) or related fields including:
3 units in Child Development, 3 units in child growth and development, 3 units in child, family and community, 3 units in program/curriculum and 3 units in Administration of Child Care Programs plus 4 years of teaching,
AA degree with a major in child development plus 2 years of teaching experience
OR BA degree in Child Development plus 1 year of teaching
“Related fields" can include: Recreation, Art/Theater, Music, Dance, Physical Education, Human Services/Social Welfare (Nursing, Psychology, Sociology or Home Economics) Elementary/Middle School teacher credential courses or ECE/CD or School Age units
“Passing grade” is considered a C or higher
Must complete Child Development Administration course within 12 months of hire date
Must complete Health and Safety Class (8 hours)
Must meet Community Care Licensing Directors Qualifications
Must have minimum 2 years administration experience in a licensed or comparable group child care program, with a working knowledge of staff coaching and supervision, public relation, marketing and fiscal management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY
Specific in-depth knowledge in child development, counseling and education
Evidence of planning and organizational skills
Essential skills in the area of sports, games, crafts, special interests and/or hobbies
Presentation and communication skills
Effective written skills
