Job Description
Purpose and Scope:
Inspects, inventories, and documents incoming and outgoing shipments of merchandise/ property.
Essential Responsibilities:
1.Inspects transporter's shipping documents (bills of lading, Customs forms) and compares with inbound file to ensure correct delivery and identifies overages or shortages on shipping documents prior to acceptance.
2.Reports discrepancies or evidence of hazardous material to the supervisor before transporter is released.
3.Completes discrepant shipment reports for any loss or damage not properly recorded and acknowledged by the transporter on the CF6043 and transporter's bill of lading.
4.Performs data entry for selected information into required data bases.
5.Releases property on receipt of completed bill of sale, disposition order or G.O. release for entry.
6.Submits release documents to Warehouse Supervisor for review and forwarding to clerk for closeout.
7.Supports cyclic sales activities.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High school degree or equivalent training/experience; 1 year of related experience, and computer/typing skills. Position may require a valid driver's license and may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government Clearance.
Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
