The responsibility of the Shipping/Receiving Attendant is to assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets and relocate orders to a holding area or shipping area and to ensure correct shipment of orders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Creates and sustains a safe work environment.
• Following all safety requirements, including, but not limited to, required PPE.
• Must operate forklift in a safe manner, following all safety rules
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment
• Responsible for supporting production to improve and maintain the quality of work performed in shipping and production areas.
• Ensure that equipment is inspected to quality standard
• Adhere to the company's attendance policy.
• Weigh, wrap & label all orders with appropriate methods.
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, shrink wrap machine & forklift in loading/unloading and wrapping supplies.
• May operate vehicle to deliver shipments.
• Provide open communication with manager and others in department.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
• Must complete all required training and show competency in understanding and application of learned skills per training timelines.
Knowledge, Skills and abilities
• Good communication & organizational skills
• Ability to read and write proficiently
• Possess adequate computer skills.
• Must be able to complete forklift training and receive certification.
Working Conditions
Able to work in hot humid environment for extended periods of time.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain stationary with intermediate walking throughout the shift. Frequently lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds alone and parts more than 50 pounds with assistance and must be able to transport these up to 20 feet.
Must be able to operate the hand tools and write legible. Must be able to position self to maneuver around parts, material and molds.
