We seek a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Associate to oversee our Shipping and receiving operations. As the Shipping and Receiving Associate, you will coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products, ensuring efficiency and accuracy throughout the process. Your leadership skills and strategic mindset will be essential in optimizing workflow, maintaining inventory levels, and meeting customer delivery requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and prioritize daily Shipping and receiving activities to meet operational goals and deadlines.
- Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to negotiate rates, track shipments, and resolve any issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards for transporting goods domestically and internationally.
- Oversee the packaging process to ensure products are adequately protected during transit and comply with shipping regulations.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation of outgoing shipments to comply with regulations and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors, couriers, and internal departments to schedule inbound and outbound shipments.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, resolving discrepancies and delivering to internal departments.
- Improve, develop, and maintain standard operating procedures for shipping, and receiving.
- Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and improve overall shipping process efficiency.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to meet shipping deadlines or address urgent issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Five plus years of proven experience in shipping, logistics, or transportation management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for shipping hazardous materials, international shipments, and customs clearance procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of shipping operations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive process improvements and cost reductions.
