Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 (Salary Based on experience and education)

Hours: 35 (8 am- 4 pm, no after-hours or On Call Required)

Position: In-Person

SUMMARY:

Are you a dedicated clinician looking to make a meaningful impact? Join our team at MHA Westchester as we seek a Clinician for our interdisciplinary, interagency assessment team, stationed on-site at the Single Homeless Assessment Center (SHAC). Your primary role will be to perform comprehensive assessments of mental health and substance use for individuals currently experiencing homelessness, connecting them with the services they need to achieve their personal goals.

Your specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting thorough mental health and substance use assessments for individuals residing in participating homeless shelters.
  2. Active participation in daily case conferences.
  3. Collaborating closely with staff from homeless shelters, the Department of Social Services (DSS), and on-site medical providers.
  4. Ensuring assessments are completed promptly and making referrals as required.
  5. Playing an integral role within a team to fulfill job responsibilities.
  6. Providing crisis intervention, if necessary, for individuals and staff on-site at the shelter during clinic hours.
  7. Maintaining comprehensive documentation of assessments in adherence to established methods and procedures.
  8. Engaging in program development and training programs.
  9. Strictly adhering to established clinic policies and procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

  1. Familiarity with and ability to use an Electronic Health Record system.
  2. The SHAC Clinician must be reliable and responsible, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  3. Applicable city, state, and federal guidelines and laws affecting mental health treatment, services, and reporting procedures.
  4. Knowledge of the common challenges associated with mental health conditions.
  5. Principles of psychological growth and development.
  6. Community mental health resources and services and other health, financial, social, recreational cultural, housing, and legal advocacy services.
  7. Understanding the impact of culture on mental health practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. The candidate must hold one of the following New York State licenses: LMSW, LMHC, Psychologist, or LCSW. Limited Permit holders are also encouraged to apply.
  2. Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
  3. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Work independently, and complete tasks and all required paperwork in a timely and complete manner.
  5. Must have advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database management.
  6. Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License with a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier and a Defensive Driving certification.
  7. The Clinician must be cleared NYS Justice Center through fingerprinting for a Criminal History Records search.
  8. The Clinician must be cleared by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs Staff Exclusion List (SEL) and the New York State Medicaid Exclusion List.
  9. The Clinician must be cleared by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) for instances of child abuse and/or neglect.
  10. The Clinician must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
