About the role

What you need to know:

AIG Aerospace has a dynamic opportunity to join a deep and talented leading aerospace underwriting team. Reporting to the Head of Aerospace Major Risks, North America, this role will be broadly deployed across the Major Risk segment, including Products, Airlines, and Complex General Aviation. In addition, the position is responsible for working with the Aerospace Leadership Team in North America to design and implement a business development plan.

• Within specified authority level, independently underwrite profitable new and renewal Aerospace Major Risks, including Products, Airlines, and Complex General Aviation
• Support large complex account teams in increasingly accountable roles
• Including service execution and audit-ready account management and documentation
• Integration with multinational resources, claims, actuarial experts, and product line leadership to deliver leading customer solutions
• Provide thought leadership, support, and mentor-coaching to underwriters in specified Aerospace segments
• Coordinate a strategy to promote effective key broker relationships that result in a robust and disciplined opportunity pipeline and open and productive lines of communication for ever-improving broker relations
• Preparation of business, pipeline, and broker/agency reports and analysis highlighting trends and opportunities
• Development of protocol to identify and resolve issues
• Serve as the key conduit to AIG Distribution (Business Development Managers and Client Directors)
• Growth and cross-selling strategies
• Communication of AIG Aerospace appetite and core differentiators
• Lead efforts to align with AIG Marketing experts to develop fresh and innovative value proposition content

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years of aviation insurance industry experience in positions of increasing authority, including aviation insurance underwriting or Broker experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree, business, marketing, finance, risk management or aviation preferred
• Strong insurance and aviation technical knowledge and acumen
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders through clear, complete, informed, and logical discussions and presentations
• Some exposure to insurance data analytics and eagerness to practice applied analytics
