Senior Transportation Planner

Our Phoenix, AZ team is currently seeking a full-time Senior Transportation Planner to join a dynamic team within the Roads + Highways sector.  The successful candidate will contribute to a wide variety of activities to support projects including technical analysis; agency and stakeholder coordination; and development of maps, reports, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) drawings, presentations, and graphics. 

 

This position will report to the Principal Project Manager, and will require 10 years experience in transportation planning. 

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transportation and planning-level analyses
• Internal coordination
• Meeting facilitation
• Preparation of supportive meeting materials and follow-up documentation
• Preparation of memoranda summarizing agency direction
• External stakeholder coordination
• Attendance at public engagement events
• Creating spreadsheet-based models
• Preparing high-quality graphics
• Writing technical reports
• Developing presentation materials
• CAD drafting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning, transporation engineering or related degree; master's degree preferred
• A minimum of 10 years of related work experience
• AICP, PTP, or MPH certification preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to develop high-quality graphics to support communications materials
• Command of transportation and urban planning concepts
• Command of technical analysis supporting transportation decisions
• Proficiency in GIS analysis required
• Proficiency in CAD desired
