- As a Senior Technical Specialist at BASF, you will support the sales function by providing technical knowledge and service to internal and external customers.
- In this role you will design and run laboratory tests, pilot tests and site trials and provide technical presentations to the customer.
- You will master and promote new technologies to both sales personnel and customers by providing training in the laboratory and in the field.

- Providing technical and operations support for Lupromin and Rheomax and other advanced mineral processing business development in North America (United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, & Caribbean).
- Traveling up to 60% within the region to support customers with their technical needs.
- Some international travel outside of the North America region may be requested.
- Assisting account managers in the Tucson lab and other laboratory resources in the region on larger technical studies and help complete reports of same in a timely manner.
- Training account managers, junior technical service personnel and customers/distributors on laboratory and test procedures for product selection, application methods, and process optimization.
- Making technical presentations and reports to customers in support of the sale, as well as designing and conducting test work and field trials.
- Preparing reports and presentation of same to customers and key industry contacts during sales calls and at industry conferences
- Establishing key relationships both internally and externally collaborating with the Regional Business Manager North America, Flotation Segment team and North American Sales team, Key Customer Technical and Management personnel, and Mining industry associations and working groups.
- Your formula for success
- Having earned a BS Chemistry or Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering degree.
- Possessing more than three (3) years' experience working in the field of solid-liquid separation in the mining and mineral processing industries.
- Knowledge of acrylic polymer chemistry as it relates to water soluble polymers used for liquid solids separation.
- Deep knowledge of mineral processing technology and unit operations including, but not limited to, grinding, flotation, thickening, concentrating, leaching, & tailings disposal.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and deliver solutions that address customer needs and requirements.
- Disciplined and able to operate autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Proven strong safety track record.
- Having strong interpersonal skills relating to account management is desired as well as ability to make technical presentations to varied audiences (i.e., technical & non-technical)
- Spanish fluency is a plus
