Our in-house team of design professionals includes engineers, steel connection designers, detailers, and checkers with each individual being a key contributor to the overall design process. Responsibilities and duties:
This position will perform structural design, analysis, and calculations for various industrial, commercial, and other structures in the production of erection and shop fabrication drawings.
- Oversee designer/drafters in the development of 3D models and 2D construction drawings
- Performing building structural design and detailing tasks.
- Structural engineering analysis, computer modeling, and design calculations.
- Developing structural details and construction drawings.
- Preparation of preliminary and final design drawings for steel structures and associated elements.
- Reviewing shop drawings and contractor’s work during construction.
- Travel on temporary assignments as needed.
- Performance of and leading work with excellent technical quality and delivering services within agreed-upon schedules and budgets.
- Provide leadership for junior engineers and detailers/designers
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineering License (PE). S.E. is a plus.
- 7+ years of structural analysis and connection design experience.
- Project management experience.
- Thorough understanding of structural analysis principles and design, material selection and design, steel design (AISC), code compliance, and structure stability analysis.
- Experience with computer software programs and structural analysis systems (RISA, ETABS, TEDDS, MATHCAD, etc.)
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling, such as Tekla Structures or SDS2 is preferred.
- Technical knowledge in BIM.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- No contract work, oversees, or outsourcing
- Must be in or willing to relocate to the Las Vegas area
