We are currently seeking to add a Senior Structural Engineer to our dynamic team in Seattle, Issaquah, or Vancouver, Washington, or Portland, Oregon.
$145,000 to $190,000 annually, full-time with benefits.
PBS Engineering and Environmental Inc. provides planning, engineering, and construction management services for transportation projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. We specialize in state and local agency projects that make a difference in our communities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon and Washington, or the ability to obtain within 4 months of hire
- 12 years of progressively responsible structural design experience
- Experience with the complete design of a variety of building structures
- In-depth knowledge of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, and related codes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software
- Experience with task and project management
- Valid Driver's License
Desirable Qualifications
- Master of Science in Civil Engineering
- Washington State Structural Engineer license
- Experience contributing to business development efforts
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, direct, manage, and perform design of buildings and non-building structures for a variety of public and private clients
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
- Project types include, but are not limited to:
- Building design
- Non-building industrial or utility structures such as access platforms, vaults, and pump stations
- Building and non-building structure condition assessments
- Park structures and pedestrian structures such as pedestrian bridges, overlooks, and boardwalks
- Marine structures such as boat launch facilities and floating and fixed docks
- Retaining structure design
- Foundation design tanks and other pre-engineered structures
- Engineering services during construction
- Support for building demolition or partial demolition
