Job description

We are looking for an experienced Stormwater and Hydraulics Engineer to support our growing portfolio of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate for this role will be a Professional Engineer with significant experience in collection systems (including sanitary and storm sewers), drinking water transmission and distribution, and/or roadway drainage systems. This role will serve as a Project Engineer and technical lead, focusing on hydraulic modeling and design development. This position will also include mentoring younger engineers and performing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) on project deliverables.

In this position, the candidate will:
    • Work as a Project Engineer and/or technical lead performing hydraulic modeling and design development for a variety of projects involving sanitary and storm sewers, drinking water, and roadway drainage systems.
    • Prepare project documents, design, conduct analyses, interpret data, and plan and coordinate limited aspects of the engineering work.
    • Review and approve project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
    • Conduct QA/QC reviews of engineering calculations, designs, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
    • Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing technical insights and recommendations.
    • Prepare proposals and/or funding applications.
    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in stormwater and hydraulics engineering.
    • Provide technical leadership in stormwater and hydraulics engineering.
    • May also perform other duties related to this role. 
Qualifications for this role:
    • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil or environmental engineering or another applicable engineering field.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
    • 8+ years of experience performing hydraulic modeling and design development.  
    • Experience with collections system and distribution modeling software such as XPSWMM, PCSWMM, SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, OpenFlows, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Infoworks, Pizer Hydra, and/or Autodesk SSA.
    • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Storm CAD and Bentley MicroStation is a plus.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
