Join us on our digital-first journey and join the magic that is happening right now at Chubb. Our teams are innovating, iterating, and solving customer problems at a rapid pace. We are building upon our strength of delivering superior coverage and customer experience by leading the modernization of what insurance does and how we deliver it in a digital way. This means technology is infused into the business and technology experts sit at the table with our insurance experts. This requires taking an engineers of everything mentality to deliver the world-class customer experience that sets Chubb apart from our competition. By being a part of the digital-first journey at Chubb, you will be a transformer at the forefront of driving change in a multidisciplinary squad. Here is how some of our current transformers are describing how they feel about their experience in our squads: invigorated, heard, motivated, supported, and valued.

Want to know more about how you can be a part of the magic? Here's what we're looking for.

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer (VP) within Chubb's digital first teams, you'll lead multiple squads to deliver engineering solutions that will power the future of insurance. In this hands-on role, you'll be involved in solutions design day to day, directly engaging with senior leadership and business domains to gather and flush out the requirements that will serve as the foundation for the software solutions your teams will build. As you do so, you'll leverage your deep technical expertise across the .NET stack along with your knowledge of systems integration to ensure the feasibility and suitability of the solutions you're designing within both our current technical landscape and our future roadmap. You'll own this endeavor from design to development to implementation and support, ensuring that the squads you're leading are able to deliver innovative software solutions on time with the scalability needed to support the evolution of business needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with senior leadership and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into consumable technical stories and software solutions
  • Drive solutions design, development, and implementation of complex, large-scale applications capable of integrating with multiple internal/external systems
  • Lead teams of software engineers to build quality software solutions aligned to architecture guidelines; guide the full SDLC from design and initial development through to code review, testing, deployment, maintenance, and support
  • Strategize and support the migration of applications to server-less architecture solutions
  • Leverage your experience with cloud infrastructure to envelope cloud based software solutions into your design landscape; lead efforts to support the migration of applications to the cloud
  • Ensure the applications built as part of the solutions you're designing are capable of processing large sets of data using Spring Batch Framework with logging capabilities via the ELK stack

Location: This position can be based in Jersey City, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, or Simsbury, CT. We operate on a hybrid model with three days in office and two remote per week.
