Job description

Offering a generous new hire total compensation package which includes, but is not limited to:

The Sr. Payroll Analyst will support configuration of UKG Pro pay policies and supporting all UKG Pro activities, including implementing and testing of system changes. This role will work closely with multiple departments, including IT & HR, to support new and existing processes and UKG Pro initiatives. This position will assist the Payroll Manager with various auditing tasks and projects as needed, as well as support the payroll team with timekeeping and payroll related tasks. The Sr. Payroll Analyst will actively monitor and maintain the accuracy of all payroll records in UKG Pro.

Essential Position Functions:
  • Troubleshoot and correct timesheet problems for the payroll team.
  • Support and back up the payroll manager as needed.
  • Create, update, and maintain process and policy documentation related to the payroll department.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies of payroll information and documentation.
  • Assist in payroll close tasks such as quarterly taxes and balancing year-end W-2's.
  • Maintains Payroll systems with pay policy changes, department changes, upgrades, troubleshooting, procedures, etc.
  • Consult with business users to develop software enhancements.
  • Plan and coordinate user acceptance testing of system implementations, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Resolve application issues and identify root cause, working with others as needed.

Non-Essential Position Functions:
  • Proactively assist in procedure clarification to improve reporting and efficiencies.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • AA Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience which will provide the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Able to identify, analyze and solve issues in straightforward situations.
  • Analytical experience at a healthcare company preferred.

Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:
  • CPP certification is preferred.

Knowledge of:
  • Application development best practices.
  • Employment taxes and understand employee and employer deductions.
  • Federal and state payroll tax, wage and hour law, and payroll policies.
  • Understanding of internal controls framework.

Skill in:
  • High degree of organizational skills.
  • Analytical thinking and detail oriented.
  • Understanding complexities between scheduling, timekeeping, HRIS and payroll module.

Ability to:
  • Function within a dynamic, fast-paced and changing structure.
  • Be detail oriented with focus on accuracy.
  • Effectively present information to management and respond to questions.
  • Establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Anticipate needs and include the right people to accomplish tasks.
  • Analyze issues and recommend workable solutions to improve efficiencies.

Physical Requirements:
  • The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies.
  • The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.
