Form of workYou will conceptualize, design, develop, verify, and validate electro-mechanical products for AC and DC EVSE solutions and energy solution products.
What you will do:- Lead the design and development of customized EV charging electro-mechanical systems and sub-components based on marketing requirements and industry standards
- Lead and participate in the product validation and verification testing to ensure conformance to product specification and certification requirements
- Lead the design and test mechanical components for EV charging electrical control systems ensuring products meet all marketing and certification requirements
- Prepare mechanical piece part and assembly design drawings conforming to all applicable regulations and standards
- Conduct system level tolerance analysis
- Complete engineering assurance evaluations including reliability, maintainability, and availability (RM&A), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Perform product validation and verification testing
- Participate in agency certification and approval process
- Work with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition of product development to production
- Maintain product data/documentations in Arena and 3DExperience PDM.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years experience in new product development or sustaining electro-mechanical products (we design safety-critical electro-mechanical products for EV charging).
- Experience designing with 3D solid modeling software (we use Solidworks).
- Experience developing products for high-volume production. - Experience designing with aluminum, sheet metal, and plastics.
- Proficient in FEA simulations and analysis (we use Solidworks).
- Proficient in thermal simulations and analysis (we use Solidworks).
- Proficient in electronics packaging.
- Proficient in compliance regulations (we work with UL).
