Senior Manager Supply Chain - Strategic Planning

What you will do

Let’s do this! Let’s change the world! In this vital role, you will support site strategy, Production Planning, and Capacity Improvement initiatives. This role is uniquely positioned and highly visible with several strategic customer and outward facing touchpoints. This role sits on the Supply Chain Leadership Team (SCLT) comprised of Strategic Planning, Procurement, Business Resilience, and Warehouse Logistics.

  • Site Strategy and Direction: Lead initiatives to craft functional and site strategy (short, mid, and long-term horizon) using inputs from site leadership, the Supply Chain functional team, emerging industry trends, and network partner functions. Ensure alignment between Amgen manufacturing and Supply Chain strategy elements, and drive progress toward the future ARI vision/site master plan including influencing site direction, supporting scenario assessment, and driving business performance optimization to ensure ARI manufacturing capabilities remain first in class and in support of the Amgen Long Range Strategy (LRS).

  • Production Planning: Work closely with the global Supply Chain planning teams, procurement, manufacturing services, and plant management to establish clear planning standards, track demand changes and trends, and develop production plans that will achieve the business needs while optimizing plant output. Ensure a reliable plan for DS supply to network DP partner and contract manufacturing sites.

  • Capacity Planning: Establish and optimize planning standards for every product that clearly articulate the run rate, plant changeover, and product re-introduction capabilities as well as plant shutdown duration and frequency. Ensure understanding of plant capabilities and capacity planning tools. Partner closely with plant leadership to develop scenarios to continually optimize plant output. In combination with the Warehouse Logistics team, lead DS inventories within warehouse capacity targets.

  • Innovation and Digital Transformation: Stay informed on developing trends and continually evolve the way we work by adopting digital and technology solutions that will improve our reliability, efficiency, agility, and resiliency. Develop action plans to implement solutions aligned with the long-term ARI site and functional Supply Chain strategy, including data tie-in with support functions / enablers.

  • Partner with the SCLT to implement large, cross-functional, or cross-site initiatives.

  • Compliance, Quality, & Inspection Readiness: Accountable to maintain GMP controlled processes, procedures, and systems in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ensure that the Planning and Analytics team is maintained in a continual state of inspection readiness. Represent the Supply Chain GMP processes to Regulatory Authorities during inspections.

  • Network Collaboration: Establish and manage relationships with Global Supply Chain, External Supply Chain, External Quality, OSPR, and all Amgen Sites to cultivate process alignment and outstanding customer service. Work with the network to advance learning and collective performance and influence direction. Align standard methodologies and ensure consistency within the network.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED and 12 years of Supply Chain or Operations experience OR

  • Associates degree and 10 years of Supply Chain or Operations experience OR

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of Supply Chain or Operations experience OR

  • Master's Degree and 6 years of Supply Chain or Operations experience OR

  • Doctorate Degree and 2 years of Supply Chain or Operations experience

And

  • 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM/ APICS) certification.

  • Knowledge of SAP and Rapid Response systems.

  • Experience in Material Procurement, Production, Planning, Master Data management, and regulatory inspection.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Expertise in GMP regulatory and pharmaceutical processes.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills including data and analytics competence.

  • Financial and business acumen.

  • Ability to influence broadly.
