Johnson & Johnson Inc. is recruiting for Senior Manager, Data Governance, located in Raritan, NJ.  Candidates near a Johnson and Johnson office in the US will be considered. This position requires up to 20% travel (domestic and internationally).

Per our J&J Flex Policy, the expectation for this position is to work in the nearest Johnson and Johnson office 3-4 days per week and work from home 1-2 days per week.

Enterprise Quality is a comprehensive organization within J&J that focuses on ensuring the highest standards of quality & compliance. It encompasses a Quality Operations division that handles Computer System Validation (CSV), QMS Management, and Commercial Quality Shared Services, including specialized support for Transportation Operations and Temperature Control. Additionally, it includes a Transformation Office dedicated to steering strategic imperatives and enhancing the Quality & Compliance organization's strategy through initiatives like Data Strategy, Automated Product Release, and Digitalization of Quality Management Systems. The group further comprises a Data & Digital Strategy function tasked with developing and executing a holistic digital and data strategy to improve quality and compliance, covering areas such as Data Foundations, AI/ML & IoT technologies, Quality & Compliance Innovation, and Digital Assets validation. To facilitate the deployment of these strategic initiatives, the group employs two Deployment Offices for the MedTech and Innovative Medicines segments and maintains a global presence through three regional leaders managing operations in Asia Pacific (ASPAC), Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and the Americas.

The Transformation Office ensures efficient, measurable, and value-driven execution of the Q&C strategy, transformation portfolio, annual business planning cycles, and operational support for the office of Enterprise Quality VP.

Within the Transformation Office, the Senior Manager of Data Governance is responsible for coordinating definition and managing the deployment of the Data Governance initiatives within Q&C. The role involves enabling iterative and incremental deployment of a cohesive Data Governance framework for Q&C, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and fostering cross-functional collaboration with Segments, IT and Data Teams to maintain data integrity and quality and drive appropriate utilization of data for key business use cases.

·         Secure the design, establishment, and maintenance of a comprehensive Data Governance framework to ensure consistent data management practices that meet internal standards and comply with external regulations.

·         Support definition of Q&C Data Governance framework, including instantiation of roles and responsibilities, operating model, key standards, and policies leading to connected accountability to govern data from source to consuming applications.

·         Secure cross-functional alignment and deployment of Data Governance leading to appropriate use of Q&C data assets (e.g., GxP data) in key platforms (e.g., CDL, EDL, RDDL).

·         Coordinate Data Governance efforts to ensure alignment with their objectives and enable cohesive alignment on relevant course of action.

·         Identify and consolidate overarching processes, data definitions and data quality protocols applicable to all Q&C stakeholders.

·         Support the development of data quality and lineage standards to level up Q&C protocols and processes.

·         Enable iterative and incremental deployment of Data Governance leveraging a product-centric approach with continuous feedback loop from business stakeholders.

·         Secure ecosystem impacts assessment for data changes in the Q&C data platforms.

·         Work closely with the data stewards with Q&C to provide guidance, ensuring that Business and Technical Stewards are working effectively.

·         Secure data stewards and key stakeholders have the training and resources to perform effectively on their governance responsibilities.

·         Manage the day-to-day project schedule, scope, and interdependencies of Q&C Data Governance with other projects.

·         Communicate Data Governance progress, achievements, risks and issues across Enterprise Quality and Segment teams where necessary.

·         Identify overarching policy and standards for Data Governance across the Q&C landscape leading to consistency in ensuring data integrity.

·         Maintain the Data Governance documentation up to date (framework, processes and policies).

·         Support effort for Q&C organization to capitalize on best practices for data.

·         Provide an environment which encourages the company’s credo and the value of a diverse workforce.

·         Collaborate with other leaders and staff within Transformation Office group to ensure each function is executed in an efficient manner

·         Ensure timely reports of status and metrics as required by the Transformation Office organization

Qualifications

Required:

·         A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field required; advanced degree preferred; solid, relevant experience may be substituted when appropriate; additional certifications a plus

·         A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical/med device/biotech industry, with direct experience in stakeholder management

·         This position requires up to 20% travel.

·         A minimum of 3 years of people management experience

·         Proven track record of leading digital strategy and implementation in a complex, global organization

·         Deep understanding of data management principles, notably Data Governance, data quality, and data architecture

·         Knowledge of Data and Analytics skills  

·         Experience in Q&C, IT, R&D, manufacturing and/or related area  

·         Science background required (including product R&D and IT & Data Science experience highly preferred)

·         In-depth industry related knowledge – Quality Systems best practices and policies  

·         Strong project management, planning and organization skills from planning to implementation  

·         Experience in evaluation of new tools & technologies for business application  

·         Strong Project and Portfolio Management Skills

·         Advanced problem-solving skills to assist in maintaining project progress and on design issues

·         Excellent intellect, strategic and big picture thinking ability, complemented by operational and business planning orientation.

·         Proven track record of leading digital strategy and implementation in a complex, global organization

·         Deep understanding of data management principles, including Data Governance, data quality, and data architecture

·         Must have the ability to perform work with a high degree of independence in terms of self-management of a large variety of tasks and initiatives regarding Quality

·         Strong skills in cross-boundary collaboration, interdependent partnering and influencing  

·         Ability to make decisions by seeking out and maintaining trusting and collaborative relationships to meet business needs and demands

·         Ability to balance execution of various change activities  

·         Ability to effectively manage Cross-functional, Virtual and Global teams

Preferred:

·         Experience with SDLC, GAMP 5, and ITIL frameworks  

·         Knowledge of SDLC Quality Management process and Computerized System Validation principles  

·         HR, org development and/or change management experience  

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550.

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
