Overview

This job will manage and perform collection & credit duties globally for the company as well as maintain the related policies, procedures and reporting. This job requires interaction with external customers as well as the Sales, Account Management and Legal departments to initiate and maintain relationships with delinquent customers in an attempt to collect fees billed to the customer. This position requires extensive customer contact via phone and email. With our customers, you will be the voice of CommerceHub so professionalism and excellent communication skills are a must! This position will also require the development and management of corporate credit policies and procedures and working with the Sales Department to ensure they are maintained. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing escalated customer accounts, resolving customer disputes, collaborating with the Sales and Account Management departments to close out delinquent balances
  • Developing and maintaining corporate credit policies
  • Handle all credit escalations to negotiate favorable terms while maintaining low risks
  • Responsible for managing and developing the credit and collections team of 5 employees, including and facilitating all onboarding, coaching, and personal development for each person's role and goals
  • Reviewing and enforcing contractual terms for customer payments
  • Managing the disablement of non-paying customers as well as enablement when payment has been made
  • Facilitating account terminations due to non-payment
  • Preparation of monthly reporting and account reconciliation requirements
  • Processing all domestic and international direct debit/BACS batches
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls/established procedures
  • Approval of negotiated payment programs with delinquent customers
  • Identifying accounts requiring collection agency intervention and coordinating collections with third party contractors
  • Use of authorization to approve third party collection settlements for bad debt/former customers
  • Identify bankruptcy accounts and assist Legal with information to file Proof of Claims
  • Managing relationships with collection agencies

  

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Ability to work in a global, dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing a team with multiple responsibilities
  • At least 5 years of experience in global accounts receivable, credit & collections
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience of a credit and collections team
  • In-depth knowledge of credit & collection principles and practices
  • Ability to identify process improvements with an efficiency mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to always remain professional and represent the Accounting/Finance department favorably with other departments and external customers
  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and assist team members
  • Proactive approach to workload management
  • Detailed record-keeping (accuracy is a must)
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Ability to learn new software and is comfortable working with new platforms

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience using NetSuite and Salesforce;
  • CBA, CBF, CMA, or PCS certification, or Master's Degree;
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced software/technology company.
