Mission

Waséyabek Development Company, LLC (WDC) is a legal entity, created and wholly owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), a Federally recognized Indian Tribe. WDC is committed to fostering the development of a stable, diversified economy for members of the Band which will contribute to their long-term wealth and economic self-sufficiency while managing risk and creating quality employment opportunities. WDC is the holding company of an investment portfolio consisting of commercial real estate, Federal operating companies, and Commercial operating companies.

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing the ordering, receiving, and distribution of compressed gas supplies to research and development (R&D) staff at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). This includes bulk gas delivery systems along with standard and specialty gas cylinders up to the point of use at three NETL sites, Pittsburgh, PA, Morgantown, WV & Albany, OR.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the point-of-contact (POC) for all issues, concerns or questions related to gas delivery at NETL
  • Develop an efficient and effective system for managing compressed gas requests
  • Coordinate all technical or safety issues with the NETL Compressed Gas Safety Program Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Coordinate all compressed gas deliveries with the NETL chemical inventory system
  • Institute a bar code system for tracking cylinder locations
  • Create a user interface for the customer that accurately depicts gas inventory levels
  • Write purchase requisitions and coordinate supplier deliveries to the NETL sites
  • Work with delivery personnel front line supervisors to coordinate timely gas cylinder deliveries
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all gases
  • Provide timely communication to gas requestors informing them their request has been received and when their gas will be delivered
  • Visit all three sites to perform audits of gas levels & locations to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Manage gas quality and stability by monitoring gas expiration dates
  • Manage cylinder integrity and safety by monitoring cylinder conditions (CGA C-6) and hydrotest dates
  • Organize refurbishment or demolition of cylinders as needed.
  • Right-size individual site inventory to eliminate runouts and minimize wasted gases
  • Work with suppliers, end users and site support design engineers to embrace advancements in technology to save time, money and increase safety.
  • Recommend changes to bulk gas systems and cylinder supplies based on usage rate data

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Vocational/technical training beyond high school with five (5) to seven (7) years of job-related or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Knowledge and experience of compressed gases and inventory management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Software; Word, Excel and Outlook required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high-energy and constantly changing environment
  • Eagerness and ability to learn about gas chemistry (compatibility, toxicity, corrosivity, etc.)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract
  • United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify

Travel Requirements:

Some travel may be required, up to 60% of the time. The travel may be local or national and may be by car, rail, or air.
