Information Technology


At AIG, technology is at the heart of everything we do, from underwriting risks to processing claims. The Information Technology team equips our employees with the latest tools to complete their work efficiently and with the highest standards of excellence. The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals. AIG’s Information Technology functions include application development and management, enterprise architecture, and technology risk and compliance.


About the role


What you need to know:


+ Lead multiple projects, overseeing project execution ensuring overall program deliverables are met per cost, schedule and scope commitments, proactively handling escalations as necessary to ensure program goals are accomplished and are in line with business objectives.


+ Monitors and coordinates dependencies across the projects in the program and resolves conflicts.


+ Maintains regular interactions with the executive sponsor and stakeholders to inform, alert, negotiate and maintain a continuing good relationship and shared vision for the program outcome. This includes providing regular status reports in various formats and forums ensuring full transparency of program status and health.


+ Manages programs major time frames and the definition of its major deliverables to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes. This includes establishing appropriate governance functions for the program in accordance with enterprise policies and practices, and on behalf of the executive sponsor or senior responsible owner.


+ Manages program budget and manages expenditure within agreed spending plans.


What we’re looking for:


+ Experience in leadership roles in technology management.


+ Experience in managing cross-IT Programs that span Infrastructure, Security, Risk and Application Development.


+ Experience in managing company restructuring projects and managing their impact on IT Infrastructure.


+ Serves as a leading subject matter expert and will have day to day responsibility for complex, strategic programs ensuring desired business outcomes are delivered within cost, schedule, and scope commitments.


+ Lead multiple project teams, manage stakeholder, and sponsor relationships, manage the program financials, and provide transparency to overall program health. These programs tend to be larger in terms of scope, cost, and impact (typically global in scope and higher level of complexity).


+ Experience organizing, directing, deploying, Infrastructure and Business programs for multiple, complex, and inter-related IT projects with a combined scope of over $10M.


+ A broad knowledge of Cloud technologies, compute, end user technologies, unified communications, network, and telecommunications.


+ Experience managing teams at multiple locations in multiple time zones.


+ Experience maintaining and managing client interface at senior levels of the client organization.


+ Meets with customer and Contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items. Ensures conformance with program task schedules and costs.


Knowledge Expertise:


+ Has comprehensive knowledge and understanding on program and project management execution, as well as in project management knowledge areas including integration, scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.


+ At least 10 years of experience implementing large-scaled projects/systems.


+ 10+ years related program/project management experience, preferably in a large, global organization.


+ 5+ years of supervisory experience leading globally diverse teams.


+ Strong leadership, problem solving and negotiation skills.


+ Transformational Project exposure.


+ Knowledge of agile/ scrum / waterfall methodologies as it relates to project management.


+ Demonstrate ability to influence organizational direction and departmental initiatives.


+ Strong leadership, problem solving and negotiation skills.


+ Cross functional work is also required to collaborate with other business teams.


+ Experience using Confluence and JIRA applications.


+ Expertise using the full suite of Microsoft Office including PowerBI.


+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including Communicating - written, oral, listening, speaking, internal/external, formal/informal, vertical/horizontal; Negotiating - reaching agreements.


+ Demonstrate ability to influence organizational direction and departmental initiatives.


+ Proficient in business and industry knowledge, strategic partnerships, organizational fluency, workforce culture and adaptability, decision making, and progressive growth mindset, and willingness to learn from past experiences and open to new ways of thinking.


Education:• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or proven record of experience in technology / project management roles with required years of experience. • PMI or Project management certification and/or Advance degree preferred.• Certification in at least ITIL v3 Foundation’s certification is nice to have.


The base salary range for this position in Jersey City is $123,000-145,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
