The Senior Environmental Scientist performs independently routine to moderately complex field investigations as well as coordinating and supervising lower-level professionals in the completion of the project. The supervisor makes a review for sound professional judgment.
Job Responsibilities

- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform independent completion of standard field and laboratory assignments.
- Prepares instructions for field and environmental laboratory assignments with the approval of supervisor and higher-level professional
- Supervises field personnel and subcontractors while offshore and solves problems with a limited number of variables.
- Project management support, and technical execution of Environmental-specific projects in both Site Characterization and Asset Integrity business lines. Some fieldwork as GIS manager on selected Environmental Projects.
- Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with entry-level environmental scientists and technicians or administrative staff.
- May include selected tender support for commercial manager or operations manager.
- Reviews and edits environmental and geophysical data and contributes to the writing of operational and factual reports.
- Assists in determining schedule and budget on projects, monitors budget on projects.
- Assists project supervisor in preparing proposals, invoices, and marketing.
- Participates in client meetings.
Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel
- Possess current driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Science with interest/experience in aspects of physical, chemical, & biological oceanographic and benthic data acquisition and analysis
- Have 2 years or more experience as a Scientist I (Project Scientist) including relevant field work.
- Knowledge and understanding of basics of technical specialty.
- A general knowledge of computers with exposure to the exposure to the MS Office suite and GIS platforms.
- Participate in marine environmental. geo-physical, and geo-technical engineering activities on average 30% of time. Travel destinations include both domestic and international locations.
- GIS certification a plus
