Job Title:Senior Environmental Project ManagerPosition is virtual but Pacific Northwest regional candidates are preferred.Job Summary:Senior Environmental Project Manager has responsibility for managing large, complex Environmental Projects. The environmental consulting projects may involve field and laboratory sampling, data collection and analysis protocols, logistical support for field studies, development of relevant analysis and documentation required by Federal and state regulations, most notably the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and the Endangered Species Act (ESA), literature searches and coordination with Federal, state, and local agencies. Environmental remediation projects may involve subsurface investigation, risk assessment, remediation design, and restoration activities under RCRA, CERCLA, and state regulatory programs.

Functional responsibilities of this position are described below.Duties/Responsibilities: Serve as a task order manager for environmental consulting projects with key federal customers such as the US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, and the Environmental Protection Agency. Execute planning for projects, including development of the project scope, staffing plans, estimates of effort and other required resources, and schedules necessary to complete the project. Prepare cost estimates and budgets for the project.

Manage and appropriately escalate to the Program Manager delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes associated with projects. Establish, plan, and execute major milestone/deliverable reviews and decision gates to complete the project life cycle. Ensure all required deliverables are produced and reviewed, including the technical leadership of requirements management, design, implementation, system integration, verification, test, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainment of the technical solution.

Review and assesses the progress and financial performance of all assigned projects monthly. Coordinate and implement changes in resource assignments, production methods, etc. to achieve optimum efficiency and profitability.

Actively participate in the development of new business; perform market research; contribute to the development of proposals; meet with prospective new clients. Participate in the training and mentoring of more junior Project Managers and other staff. Communicate openly and frequently with clients during the course of a project to ensure that all issues are addressed efficiently and to the client's satisfaction.

Prepare, conduct, and document all progress reviews and other meetings. Meet all administrative requirements and requests established by the company on the dates specified (e.g., timesheet submission, invoice preparation and submission, report submission and other corporate directives, etc.) Provide process improvement recommendations and proactively shares lessons learned based on best practices and industry standards. Duties may be updated from time to time to better reflect current workload conditions.Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong relationship management skills. Broadly applied software including MS Office, advanced knowledge of MS Excel, and proficiency in time management systems. Demonstrated leadership qualities working with program managers, clients and team participants, and a successful track record in developing and completing assignments.

Strong history working with federal and state government clients including the DOE, Department of Defense, and/or the Environmental Protection Agency. Comprehension of government contract compliance requirements, especially administrative records. Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.

Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required.Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, in Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Biology or a related field in science. Prefer a master's degree in a relevant discipline.

15 years of experience in a related field. Professional certification in project management (PMP) is preferred. Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) earned value management, large DOD or DOE contracts, government contracting, and project management.Working Conditions:The physical and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
