We need a diverse workforce to do our best work. We need the makers, the forward thinkers, the problem solvers, and everything in between. That is where you come in. We are looking for a Senior Engineer dedicated to PCBA Process located at our Twinsburg, OH manufacturing Facility.
Position Summary:
Engineer role supporting printed circuit board assembly at global Rockwell plants with a focus on post SMT processes. It is part of a team of PCBA process experts that supports the business with technology roadmaps, process standardization, design standardization, assessment to standards, and asset management. The team's goals are to improve the long term profitability, quality, and reliability of Rockwell Automation PCBA products.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Support the PCBA Roadmap through process and design verification of components, materials, and equipment using tools such as Design of Experiments, FMEA, and Variable Analysis.
- Support the standardization of PCBA process and design with the creation of procedures, standards, technical papers, presentations, and training.
- Assess PCBA facilities to process standards and drive corrective action.
- Proactively research new technologies by benchmarking other companies and attending conferences or other technical forums.
- Support projects in the selection and purchase of PCBA assets for global facilities.
- Support projects for the PCBA Design Guidelines and design for manufacturability tools such as the Design Manufacturing Index.
- Monitor and report on process performance to drive improvement and corrective action.
- Productivity projects to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase output.
- Maintains subject matter expertise in some or all of the following specific areas
- a) Capital execution and deployment
- b) PCBA routing process/equipment for depanelization
- c) PCBA conformal process/equipment
- d) PCBA through hole process/equipment
- e) Adhesive dispensing
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering field of study
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Typical 5+ years of direct experience in printed circuit board assembly.
- Advanced knowledge in the application of engineering principals and theories to printed circuit board assembly and soldering technology.
- Experience in installing, programming, repairing, or making improvements with electronic assembly equipment, materials, or processes.
- Experience in sharing technical knowledge through procedures, papers, and presentations.
