YOUR MISSION:
Designs, develops, modifies, implements and performs evaluation of electrical test and error proofing systems for manufacturing. Responsible for all aspects of a given project.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Develops systems for the testing of automotive electronic devices in the manufacturing environment.
- Utilizes a wide variety of remote-controlled test and measurement equipment to evaluate product performance.
- Uses NI (National Instruments) TestStand software to create and deploy test sequences.
- Evaluates and determines appropriate test equipment for new test systems.
- Creates wiring diagrams, equipment lists, and setup documentation for test systems.
- Designs analog and digital circuitry required for test systems.
- Prepares schematics, product and component related specifications, and bills of materials as needed.
- Utilizes PCB (printed circuit board) design software for schematic capture and layout of test interface PCBs.
- Writes software libraries with NI LabVIEW or VB/C#.net as needed.
- Generates and analyzes test data and reports to improve the current manufacturing process
- Supports launch activities at our factories as needed.
MUST-HAVES:
- Four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience;
- Three (3) years of experience in an electronics-manufacturing environment required.
- Must possess good understanding of various areas within main discipline.
- Must be capable of system level design work.
- Must be able to determine component requirements appropriate to test system.
- National Instruments TestStand experience preferred.
- Proficiency with the computer applications appropriate to the position and assignment.
