- Responsible for oversight of substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US and internationally.
- Main responsibilities include creating electrical protection & control and/or physical layout design deliverables.
- Projects range in size, complexity, and voltage class from small distribution equipment upgrades to large transmission projects.
- This position can influence the future of the resiliency, reliability, and economic operation of the electric grid.

- Travel required 15% of the time.
- Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field plus seven (7) years of substation engineering experience.
- Alternatively, the employer will also accept a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field plus six (6) years of substation engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field plus seven (7) years of substation engineering experience.
- Travel required 15% of the time.
Previous experience in the following:
Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Creating design deliverables in the form of drawings, reports
Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following:
- Independent physical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material.
- Independent protection and control design including panel arrangements, one-lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, SCADA system design, equipment wiring and relay panel wiring, voltage drop calculations, AC/DC load studies, cable, and breaker sizing.
- Performing quality reviews for other engineers and designers.
- Utilizing the National Electric Safety Code and IEEE /ANSI Standards for substation design.
Must have 2 years of experience in the following:
- Utilizing pdf markup software e.g., Bluebeam Revu.
