The Defined Contribution (DC) Distribution Relationship Manager & Strategy role is primarily responsible for developing and growing Allianz sales/market share in the Defined Contribution market by managing all aspects for a portfolio of relationships with strategic partners across the DC value chain. This role works to establish and grow long term, mutually beneficial relationships with record-keepers, managed account providers and other strategic partners as well as plan-focused consultants and advisors. This role supports business development including RFP sourcing and identifying joint selling opportunities as well as representing Allianz at regional and national events hosted by strategic partners and industry associations. This role supports the overall DC Distribution strategy in developing market segmentation, performance measurement and ongoing business plan development. This role works collaboratively with internal business partners to identify opportunities, communicate client needs and influence change. This role is responsible for training and helping the Head of DC Distribution manage a team responsible for supporting plan sponsor clients both directly and by working collaboratively with intermediary partners.

What you do:

Relationship Management:

  • Establish, build, protect and maximize relationships with key intermediary accounts across the DC value chain, including Record-keepers, Managed Account providers, Broker-dealers and RIAs; primary focus will be retirement aggregators and certain key Broker-dealer distributors. Work collaboratively with internal & external stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities for DC Distribution.
  • Business Development: Source RFP and joint selling opportunities through strategic partner relationships. Represent Allianz, promote our DC products and educate advisors at national and regional partner events and at DC industry events.
  • Business Partner Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal business partners to communicate client needs and influence the change needed to meet and exceed the expectations
  • Leadership: Oversee training and development of DC Relationship Managers as they are added in the future. Practice continued self-development. May provide work direction to marketing associates, internal relationship support, Operations and Event Planners. Including mentorship and training of others in the department.


What you bring:

Minimum Requirements:
  • 11+ years of experience required. Deep and broad experience in sales and financial services including experience managing third-party distribution partner relationships.
  • Four-year degree required or equivalent experience.
  • FINRA Series 7 & 24/26. State insurance license for life and annuity products.
  • CIMA, CFA, CFP, CPFA or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • CIMA, CFA or CFP preferred

Ability to attend evening business functions. Domestic and international travel 40-60%. Job may require periods of stooping, standing, bending or sitting.

Base Salary: $100K + Variable Commissions (target - $140K)

In addition to base salary, a portion of your total compensation is based on commissions. Actual commission earned is driven by assigned territory and individual sales performance.
