To support this vision, we are building a platform that manages the end-to-end lifecycle, from provisioning to upgrade to termination, and provides a self-service cloud experience to the customer. We are looking for passionate engineers who are Oracle Database, Oracle Cloud, Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle Data Management (Partitioning, Compression), and Exadata experts. We seek engineers with current experience in cloud technologies or those interested in expanding their skills in the Cloud.

Oracle Health's Database Services Team is a client-facing organization supporting 400+ customers databases originating from various geographies. The new position is part of the Database Service team based in the United States and is tasked with helping us migrate mission critical database systems to the cloud. Our customers, who depend on our cloud infrastructure to operate their businesses, deserve exceptional services as we strive to reduce overall healthcare spending, aligning with our broader mission. To achieve this mission and ensure outstanding services for OHAI customers, we've outlined a clear roadmap. This includes strategic projects to transition existing millennium and non-millennium database on-premises databases to Oracle Cloud and Autonomous Database.

This role owns critical system changes and projects include Oracle database upgrades, cloud migrations, major/minor patching, OS upgrades, host migrations, and other projects. An Ideal candidate will have experience migrating the Oracle Database to OCI on Exadata Cloud Service and Autonomous Database platforms through physical and logical migration methods.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

+ At least 5+ years of experience as Oracle DBA

+ Bachelor's degree/master's degree (Information Technology/Mathematics/Computer Science/Computer Software/Electronics/Operational Research/Computer System Engineering).

+ Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

+ Strong grasp of database upgrade, standby, and goldengate

+ Knowledge in Python, Perl and/or Shell Scripting

+ Managing production databases running on UNIX flavors (RHEL, OEL).

+ You are experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.

+ Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise

+ Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)

+ Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.

+ Advanced scripting/coding skills (Shell, Perl, and Python)

+ Understanding of REST Architecture and JSON is a plus.

+ Building and managing Linux OS systems with good understanding how the Linux kernel works (IO, Network, etc.) and ability to read and understand source code.

Hiring Range: from $36.54 to $76.06 per hour; from $76,000 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
