Position Summary:
Waypoint’s client is seeking applicants for Senior Data Analytic Engineer with a background in Data Engineering and Elastic Stack to become a productive team member assisting with the design, build and support of large-scale data environments.

Responsibilities: 

• Systems Engineering and Administration of the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana / Beats) to include Elastic Cloud, Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) and Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK).
• Assisting with Elastic Stack cluster architecture, design, and deployment.
• Monitoring and maintaining stack and infrastructure performance for on prem deployments and cloud environments.
• Facilitating the integration of data sources and applications.
• Software design as it relates to Elasticsearch deployments, distributed computing, and system architecture.
• Developing Automation and Orchestration to deploy and maintain the Elastic Stack in a repeatable and scalable fashion.
• Working with Ingest and Architecture teams to create deployment roles for all components of the Elastic Stack.
• Working in the client’s team environment as needed.
• Comfortable working with a highly distributed team.

Position Requirements: 

• Combination experience with DevOps, ETL, Analytics, and Elastic
• Excel at working directly with clients to gather, prioritize, plan, and execute solutions to customer business requirements as it relates to elastic technologies.
• Hands on experience with automating Elastic Stack features.
• Hands on experience with large distributed systems from an architecture and development perspective.
• Proficient working from the Linux command line.
• Proficient in scripting using JavaScript, Golang, Painless, Python or Bash.
• Active U.S. Federal security clearance for the Government positions

Desired:

• Desired experience with ETL and data indexing concepts.
• Desired experience with one or more of the Public Cloud Providers, such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Desired experience with one or more Containerization solutions such as Kubernetes, OpenShift or Docker.
• Desired experience with one or more Visualization tools such as Kibana, Grafana or Jupyter.
