About the position
Altruist is entering an exciting phase, and we're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team.
What You'll Do
* Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analyses supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for various accounts (i.e., accrued compensation, commissions, stock-based compensation, etc.)
* Prepare intercompany journal entries and consolidation and reconcile domestic subsidiary accounts
* Support the consolidation and reporting processes to ensure elimination of intercompany balances and investments in subsidiaries
* Monitor and update intercompany methodology and expense sharing arrangements as needed
* Support automation initiatives of intercompany processes and other corporate accounting initiatives
* Identify areas for improvement on internal processes and controls and develop efficiencies within consolidation, intercompany, and expense allocation processes in preparation for SOX compliance
* Conduct variance analyses and provide observations, potential errors, and opportunities for additional follow up
* Support annual external audit processes and functions
* Assist in ad-hoc requests
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
* 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting function, preferably with 3+ years of "Big 4" accounting experience
* Deep understanding of consolidation, intercompany journal entries and elimination accounting and compliance within US GAAP accounting
* Strong proficiency in G-Suite, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft office products
* Detailed oriented and possess effective project management skills and a strong ownership mindset
* Ability to operate in a fast paced environment, handling multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven and results-oriented environment
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Propensity to challenge the "old" ways of doing things and enjoy changing the status quo to optimize process and drive continuous improvement in yourself and within your function
* Active CPA (preferred)
Los Angeles, CA salary range
$101,000-$155,000 USD

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs).
