Job description

Within our corporate headquarters in Denver - Leprino is seeking a SeniorControls Engineer(possibility for Engineer II-levelvaries based on individual experience) on our Capital Projects team to design and implement advanced control systems, enhance equipment performance, and streamline our manufacturing processes. By leveraging your expertise in controls systems and Capital Projects, you will help us achieve even higher levels of excellence and drive our organization to new heights.
At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $115,000 and $125,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 12%.

  • The corporate Controls Engineering team is responsible for cross-functional, Capital Projects in ten manufacturing facilities.
  • Provides company-wide expertise and support for process control development.
  • Designs and implements advanced control systems to optimize production processes.
  • Integrates PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to improve efficiency and streamline operations.
  • Programs and modifies PLCs and HMIs for process and batching systems.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains control systems to ensure proper function.
  • Supports plant innovations, performance enhancements, loss elimination, and process improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with safety procedures.
  • Manufactures, builds, and validates systems involving pneumatics, servos, VFDs, relays, communication networks, HMI screens, pushbuttons, and robotic integration.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to achieve strategic projects.
  • Participates in recruiting new team members and assists with training and onboarding.
  • Fosters a mentoring environment and maintains quality standards in a highly regulated, process-driven setting.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art control system technologies, architectures, and products.
  • Must be onsite during equipment installation and system start-ups to ensure successful implementation of projects.

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Controls, or Computer Engineering (or very similar subject area). Degree is a non-negotiable.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in industrial Controls Engineering.
  • Experience in PLC/SCADA integration, programming of ControlLogix PLC processors, and/or working with the Wonderware software suite that includes System Platform, InTouch, DASABCIP, InSQL, and (Manufacturing Execution System) MES Operations
  • Experience with various instrumentation such as Flow meters, Pressure sensors, Level sensors, Temperature probes, VFDs, and starters, and experience in industrial automation networks (ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet)
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISA-88, ISA-95, and IEC 61131-3.
  • Strong project management skills, as Senior Controls Engineers are responsible for managing the entire control systems process, including project planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • The ability to meet this role's travel requirements of having a maximum of 8 overnight stays each month (non-consecutive). The average annual travel is 40%.
  • The ability to work a weekly 3/2 (office/home) hybrid schedule.
  • Any other experience necessary befitting that of a Senior-level Controls Engineer at Leprino Foods.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Master's in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Computer Engineering (or very similar subject area).
  • Eight years of relevant and progressive experience in industrial Controls Engineering at the Senior-level.
