Your Specific Responsibilities:

Answering phones, registering clients, scheduling appointments, and entering records for those in need of the certified vaccination record for school entry, verifying insurance coverage for clients receiving vaccines, acting as a back-up for front desk clerical staff by processing clients for services, acting as cashier, receiving client payments, balancing cash drawer, and prepares daily deposits.  This position assesses vaccine records of clients and places live calls (as opposed to automated calls) to parents of children due for vaccines within 30 days, offering to schedule them an appointment prior to the date that they would be considered "late". Special emphasis is being placed on such calls for children aged 2-23 months of age and 11-17 years of age to improve our county's Immunization Completion Rates for one and two-year old children and adolescents. In addition, this position places calls to adult clients age 50+ years of age who are showing due for shingles, influenza, and pneumonia vaccines.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Skill in the performance of all aspects of cashier responsibilities, including quoting correct prices, collecting appropriate fees, providing correct change, and accurately preparing deposits
  • Data entry skills
  • Excellent assessment skills, including the ability to comprehend complex vaccine schedules and requirements and to evaluate records for the need of required vaccines
  • Ability to organize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to solve problems creatively
  • Ability to operate various office machines such as computers, printers, copiers, scanners, etc. 

 

Qualifications:

Minimum -

  • Valid Florida driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation
  • High School diploma or GED
  • One to three years of clerical work, college education of 30 semester hours, and/or vocational training of 720 classroom hours
  • Fluency in Spanish

Preferred -

  • Experience with customer service and insurance coverage verification
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 coding, data entry, and scheduling
