We are looking for a Senior CAT Risk Analyst - Energy & Construction. This role can be based in the Houston, Texas or New York office.

The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Global Head of Energy & Construction, this position will take prime responsibility for identifying and quantifying major accumulation risks (modelled and non-modelled nat cat risks) to assist in the establishment of the appropriate risk mitigation and control mechanisms for E&C globally (Energy onshore including Power, Construction, Energy offshore and offshore wind). The Senior Analyst role requires application of solid catastrophe modelling techniques, principles and understanding to meet team objectives and the ability to guide others in these activities. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the Product Leaders in CUO and E&C Underwriting Specialists in the Region to enhance the National CAT Underwriting Strategy and Controls and has responsibility to develop tools which aid the Underwriting process so that Underwriters can identify the exposure for the individual risk and assess how a risk contributes to the overall portfolio and capacity steering. Which will include risk visualization, ensuring tools tie in with the Authority grid and Functional Rule to support adherence, close cooperation with the Allianz Global National Cat Management team and CFO risk management to ensure E&C is aligned with the overall Nat Cat and accumulation control strategy and that E&C values are correctly reported and reflected, and supporting pricing and model development to ensure risks and values are appropriately reflected.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Running Catastrophe loss modelling reports and preparing regular and ad-hoc data extracts and reports for the monitoring of energy and construction global loss potential
- Portfolio analyses, CAT limit monitoring, global business steering, collaboration with product leaders and regional underwriting specialists
- Leading/mentoring others in global loss modelling activities and related analysis (including in-depth knowledge of model methodology)
- Collaboration with actuarial, risk management, reinsurance, nat cat capacity steering desk, risk consulting, claims, etc. for portfolio management and data quality improvements
- Working with Catastrophe Modeling Software (RMS, AIR, EQECAT)
- Working with GIS (Geographical Information Systems) applications
What You'll Bring to the Role -
We'd like to find someone with a minimum 5 years' professional insurance and/or reinsurance experience. Someone with understanding of underwriting practice for the energy & construction line of business on a global basis. Preferably with a bachelor's degree in Geosciences, Engineering, or Mathematics in conjunction with project management experience.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $82,568 to $147,727. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AGCS total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
