Uses CADD software to produce neat, legible graphic presentations for reports, construction, and post-construction projects on multi-discipline projects. May perform duties as the project drafting lead for multiple projects.
Essential Duties:
- Prepares complete engineering designs, sketches, computations, and drawings under the guidance of a project engineer or project manager from verbal or written instructions.
- Applies sound engineering principles and concepts for the development of detailed design drawings as required for specific projects.
- Is proficient in the use of standard drafting standards, symbols, nomenclature, engineering terms, use of materials, reference materials, and marked up prints.
- Plans and controls the development of project drawings and other drafting presentations using Microstation or AutoCAD software.
- Assists in gathering applicable information and reference data for projects as required for the professional preparation of engineering drawings.
- Has authority to make CADD drawing related decisions as applicable to approach, presentation, formatting, and overall presentability. Provides input on drafting approach and presentation.
- Responsible for the proper project startup, setup, filing, and archiving of prepared drawings and other related engineering data.
- Exercises considerable judgment as related to layout and presentation of project related graphics.
- Has a solid understanding of multi-discipline project graphic and coordination needs and what is required for project CADD setup.
- Has good communication skills and the ability to work with multiple project teams.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in CADD drafting, engineering technology, or a related field and five-years of relevant experience, or...
- A minimum of 10-years of relevant experience with solid proficiency in AutoCAD or Microstation
