Responsible for implementing applications and homegrown solution projects, as well as maintaining and evolving its framework. Works closely with Business Intelligence and Software Engineer teams while indirectly overseeing those needing guidance to solve challenging problems with the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP). Advises on how best to execute techniques in order to achieve the desired outcomes for both department and enterprise level projects and initiatives.
Job Responsibility
.Serve as subject matter expert in NLP techniques such as word embeddings (word2vec, fasttext, Transformers), topic modeling (LSA/LSI, LDA, NMF), search, dialogue systems (Rasa, kore.ai), knowledge graphs.
.Apply machine learning algorithms such as dimensionality reduction, decision trees, random forest, gradient boosted trees, logistic regression, DBSCAN, K-means, hierarchical clustering, and deep learning in order to solve challenging business problems.
.Responsible for leading implementation of Northwell homegrown solution projects, as well as develop concepts that Northwell's online application will use for named entity recognition, semantic search, sentiment analysis, text summarizations, machine translations and auto entity abstraction for registry submissions.
.Works independently to build and maintain the framework that Northwell's online application will leverage in order to provide this type of service to their user base, devising new methods and procedures as necessary based on the competing market space.
.Oversees the evolution of the framework and makes recommendations to management to ensure modern techniques are implemented as they become available in the market place.
.Often operates in ambiguous situations and provides technical and functional guiance to others on problems of diverse scope and complexity, using independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors.
.Advanced knowledge may exceed that of management; frequently serves as technical advisor to both leadership and supporting work teams.
.Works on programs to oversee and apply knowledge of data science methodologies, including predictive modeling and machine learning, data analytics and visualization, and usability and design, to departmental, service line, and enterprise applications and functions.
.Works with senior leadership to determine best methods, techniques, and analytical approaches on matters of significance.
.Oversees and provides guidance to senior professionals when synthesizing complex data-related problems into actionable business/clinical strategy based on subject matter expertise.
.Lead the development of specifications to support the design of new or modified data science projects, with a focus on data-driven optimization, enhancement, and development.
.Works independently at the most advanced level to evaluate projects, systems, and initiatives at the department, service line, and enterprise level.
.Monitors projects and their outputs to ensure they enhance clinical quality, patient safety, and institutional efficiency, focusing on all aspects of data science, including data gathering and wrangling, exploratory data analysis, data modeling and machine learning, and model implementation and evaluation. Ensures high quality execution of all proposed projects.
.Applies subject matter expertise to present and planned data science projects and maintains voice of the customer in all project initiatives.
.Serves as the project lead and link between the clinical staff (customer) requirements and technical capabilities on both short and long term projects. Majority of contact is with stakeholders across the system as the subject matter expert.
.Ensures that systems are implemented to support Health System initiatives and goals to improve the quality of patient care, to maximize patient safety, and to provide operational efficiency.
.Deep understanding of statistical and predictive modeling concepts, makes recommendations for machine-learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques, and optimization algorithms.
.Identifies opportunities and moves projects involving NLP solutions from concepts to production using multi-modal and multilingual contexts.
.Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities notes here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
