The Senior Accountant will work with Divisional, Regional and Corporate teams to analyze trends, metrics and perform analysis to support operational and financial business decisions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in developing and reviewing proformas for new accounts by comparing pricing models to actual operational statistics and financial data.
- Assist in reviewing actual financial and operational data to identify opportunities to improve existing operations.
- Assist in analyzing financial and operational data for potential acquisitions
- Leverages industry-leading process improvement methods, operational and financial experience to provide insights related to performance
- High level operational understanding of the waste industry and the ability to determine and share methods for achieving goals and objective
- Conducts bid reviews, including directing pro forma preparation and financial sensitivity analysis
- Works in partnership and consults with the appropriate departments to achieve goals and objectives
- Conducts ad hoc analysis and makes recommendations
- Analyzes trends and deviations (actual performance to budget plan), RO
- Ensures compliance in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate finance policies procedures, internal control processes and established finance reporting requirements
- Actively uses financial/accounting automation tools (e.g. Solomon, Dossier) to prepare, maintain, derive and share data
- Plays active role in merger/acquisition due diligence, data management, proforma development, and post-closing integration
- Identifies and implements cost reduction and profit improvement strategies.

- Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
- Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Education and Experience
- BS, BA or BBA Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years progressive accounting/financial management experience.
- Minimum of 3 years direct finance/accounting or operational experience within the Waste Industry preferred.
- Ability to manage complex and dynamic situations requiring a well-developed sense of strategic and tactical priorities.
- High degree of autonomy, yet team oriented with ability to work cross-functionally within a matrix organization.
- Proven analytical, negotiation and implementation skills.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Applied familiarity with financial/accounting/HRIS software packages/systems.
- Demonstrated uncompromising personal integrity and ethics.
- Committed to continuous improvement of quality, quantity, and timely project delivery.
- Solid project management, oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced Excel Skills Required
