This position serves as the Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Coordinator, responsible for maintaining and updating the critical information list (CIL). Responsible for annual program reviews, assistance to Information Security, and assisting the development of OPSEC countermeasures for ongoing and new activities. The position is in the DoD Office of Inspector General, Mission Support component, Office of Security.Qualifications: Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or equivalent or higher grade, in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) or equivalent within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Demonstrated knowledge of the laws, and regulations which govern personnel security programs. Expertise in personnel security methods and processes to develop and improve security operations.

Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
Qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants who have held a non-temporary General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the time-in-grade restriction.
