Job breakdown

However, if you are good at this, are great at supervising others, and have security guard experience, we may have your next job opportunity. Our client has an opening for an experienced Event Supervisor to help manage a team of security personnel for its events division. Please note, this opportunity requires 80% - 90% of this role, which entails travel time in company-provided transportation. If your own transportation is used, you will be reimbursed for mileage in accordance with California mileage reimbursement laws.

What you will own

• Supervising assigned posts which may require using a company-provided vehicle
• Conducting compliance checks by touring assigned sites and observing guard performance
• Responding to emergencies and preparing incident reports
• Serving as a liaison between Event Lead and Events Operations Manager
• Supporting, developing, and supervising team members including:
  • Training new employees
  • Scheduling
  • Managing poor performance as required
• Managing shifts ensuring events are always properly staffed
  • Ensuring backup staff is scheduled for assigned events
• Driving guards to and from events
• Conducting checks on company vehicles and coordinating maintenance, if necessary

Skills to bring to the table

• Previous experience supervising security guards
• Alert and proactive
• Culturally sensitive and able to work with a diverse range of backgrounds
• Tech savy
• Adept in Google Suite (GDrive, Sheets, Docs)
• Multitasking and project management

Negotiables

• Valid CPR/AED/First Aid certification, preferred
• Prior military or law enforcement experience
• 1+ years of supervisory experience
• Bilingual in Spanish or Afghani, MAJOR PLUS

Non-negotiables

• High School diploma or GED
• Active CA State security guard card
• 1-3 years of security guard experience
• Weekend and overtime availability
• Travel to all events within California
  • Some travel out of state may be required
  • Company pays for all travel
• Must be able to stand/walk a minimum of 8 hours a day
• Must be able to use both hands to grip & hold at least 20 pounds
• Must have 20/40 vision (or better), with or without contacts or glasses
• Must be able to pass:
  • criminal background check
  • drug test
