POSITION: Mathmatics Teacher - Secondary - anticipated positions in the upcoming 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s)
  • Fingerprint/background screening required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience in Math instruction in a secondary school setting
  • Ability to teach AP Physics

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teaches Math Colorado Academic Standards to students using approved curriculum
  • Develops lesson plans, instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
  • Engages in professional development and implements strategies that support school-wide instructional initiative
  • Gathering student data through observation, dialogue, testing tools, etc., and designing strategies to meet student needs
  • Supporting student learning through thoughtful planning and preparation and sound classroom management practices
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Treat students with respect and dignity
  • Establish rapport with students and provide a pleasant, safe, and orderly environment conducive to learning
  • Maintaining updated gradebooks, tracking the data, drafting report cards
  • Assisting in conducting school-wide benchmark assessments (PSAT, SAT, etc) when needed
  • Effectively communicates with school administrators, teachers, student service personnel, parents regarding student performance and plans for improvement in a positive and professional manner
  • Participating in professional development, professional learning communities and building level staff meetings per direction of the building principal
  • Actively participate in full implementation of the School Improvement Plan
  • Assisting in orientation and open houses as needed
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day
  • Flexibility and a team-spirit work ethic
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Performs other duties as assigned
