How will you make an impact?
You will work in small molecule drug product development efforts. You have the ability to encourage innovation, drive customer experience and a dedication to excellence. Ability to work independently and jointly in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment.
What will you do?
- Develop physiologically-based pharmacokinetics and biopharmaceutics models (PBPK/PBBM) to evaluate pharmacokinetics in animal and human studies, generation of mechanistic in vitro-in vivo correlations (IVIVCs), prediction of food effects, modified release, solubility improvement, and clinical formulation development for oral drug delivery.
- Design and build mechanistic PBPK/PBBM models to quantitatively assess impact of formulation changes on absorption of orally administered drugs.
- Communicate and collaborate with members of cross-functional project teams, clients, write reports and publications.
- Support early and late stage development projects across the global network. Should be able to work on multiple projects and meet team's project timelines and results.
How will you get here?
- Bachelors or advanced degree in pharmaceutics, chemistry, chemical engineering or related scientific field.
- Proven skills and hands-on experience with building PBPK/PBBM models using GastroPlus or similar software, data analysis, modeling, and results interpretation.
- Experience analyzing pharmacokinetics data in preclinical species and early-phase clinical studies using WinNonLin or relevant software.
- Demonstrated understanding of biopharmaceutics including experimental design for dissolution and permeability studies.
- Basic understanding of in-vitro ADME data and impact on drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), including parametrization of PBPK models.
- Ability to understand fundamentals of oral dosage forms including controlled-release formulations.
- Proven skills in writing scientific communications for internal and external audiences.
- Cursory understanding of pharmacodynamics for predictions of first-in-human dosing.

- Demonstrated knowledge and skills using PBPK/PBBM approaches using GastroPlus ® and related software.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral/written communication and collaboration skills.
