Position Overview: We are excited to announce a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in collaboration with a local school district in Arizona.At this time, we are able to consider AZCertified TVI teachers as remote/virtual applicants. As a TVI, you will play a crucial role in empowering students with visual impairments, enabling them to achieve their academic and developmental goals. This position is for the 2023-2024 school year, with a contract duration from January 2024to June2024, covering 37.5 hours per week and a K-12caseload.

1099 Hourly Contract with a pay range of $25-$40 per hour based on experience & relevant qualifications.
Eligible Applicants *MUST* have their Arizona Teaching Credentials, relevant TVI Endorsement, and active Arizona Fingerprint Card in hand.

Responsibilities: As the Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments. Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting thorough assessments of each student's visual abilities and educational needs to develop personalized learning plans.
- Designing and implementing effective teaching strategies, materials, and accommodations to meet individual learning goals.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, therapists, and other educational professionals to ensure the integration of Visually Impaired students into mainstream classrooms.
- Utilizing assistive technology and adaptive tools to enhance learning experiences for Visually Impaired students.
- Providing orientation and mobility training to enhance students' independent navigation skills.
- Conducting regular progress evaluations and reporting on student development to parents and the school administration.
- Advocating for the needs of Visually Impaired students and promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Staying updated on advancements in visual impairment education and incorporating best practices into teaching methodologies.
Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education with a focus on Visual Impairments or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Prior experience working with Visually Impaired students is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Braille and other adaptive technologies used by Visually Impaired individuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and fellow educators.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for helping Visually Impaired students overcome challenges and achieve success.
