Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

The Operations Director (Satellite Location) is responsible for the management of multi-programmatic services inclusive of direct team supervision and team leads at the satellite location. This role will provide specific emphasis on programmatic operations, team management and development, and establishing standards of performance across related programs or interdependent projects or programs. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for the operational success of AHRC’s satellite location ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation.


Responsibilities and Duties:


Leadership:

  • Develop new and/or cultivate existing relationships with vendors, partner organizations and other key stakeholders with the goal of ensuring sufficient space and resources, and access to services.
  • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas.


Team Management and Development:

  • Recruits, trains, coaches and manages administrative and program teams.
  • Designs team curriculum and training materials.
  • Leads the safety and risk management work of the site.
  • In conjunction with leadership, creates and maintains staff work schedules.
  • Develops and implements a system to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all staff.
  • Implements a professional development program to address employee experience and skill gaps.
  • Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling tight oversight of individual and organization performance standards.


Program & Operational Management:

  • Works collaboratively with the Operational Director to ensure implementation, maintenance and compliance with new and/or existing Operational AHRC protocols and regulatory compliance measures (financial, government, industry best practices etc.).
  • Works collaboratively with the Program Director to ensure seamless delivery of services within the functional areas of the programs to meet all program objectives and deliverables.
  • Works collaboratively with the Development Director regarding fundraisers, community partnerships and in the creation of marketing or promotional strategies.
  • Attends internal and external program and management meetings.
  • In conjunction with other Managers/Directors, ensures successful grant delivery.
  • Implements evaluation processes and other means of documenting the work.
  • Supports organizational learning by integrating new knowledge and best practices from the experiential education and non-profit best practices.
  • Contributes to communications, outreach, recruitment and fundraising materials.
  • Develops productive relationships throughout the AHRC network.
  • Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts, programs and/or initiatives.
  • Plans and coordinates with other departments regarding resources.
  • Oversees all operations and activities for each program at the satellite location.
  • Reviews and improves applied standards and practices.
  • Prepares and monitors the program calendar.
  • Reschedules or rearranges tasks and projects as necessary.
  • Timely resolution of issues to keep programs rolling.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations for each program.
  • Prepares reports on the programs’ status or problems.
  • Recommends improvements and presents ideas for new programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Reporting Duties:

  • Ensures all data have been completely and accurately submitted in data gathering systems.
  • Collects data from each data gathering system and leads and updates as required.
  • Develops monthly program and project reports to share with leads, Program Director, and grant project officers.
  • Reviews and prepares annual progress reports for each project and program.


Experience/Education:

  • Minimum of a BA, MA in Social Work, Public health or related field preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience with three of those in a team management role
  • Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs
  • Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems
  • Strong project/program management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth
  • Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group
  • Strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, span-of-control and performance
  • Understanding of human resources and employee performance management policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated results in managing through complex systems and proven experience negotiating win-win agreements.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times
  • Participation in community outreach which involves prolonged periods of standing (Community Outreach initiatives occur year-round)
  • Access to a reliable and consistent means of transportation (ability to travel as needed to partnering agencies/ transportation of clients etc.)
  • Ability to work efficiently in adverse weather conditions.
