The Sales Specialist will focus on Service Contracts, requiring a highly motivated and self-driven representative that will develop innovative strategies to achieve sales goals, as well as make meaningful connections with Hamilton customers to maintain lasting relationships. The Sales Specialist works independently with a primary focus of supporting customers through the sale of new and renewed service contracts across a variety of equipment product lines. These contracts vary in monetary value and are sourced from a large and continually increasing customer installed base. Incumbent will focus on meeting or exceeding sales goals by selling, negotiating, managing, and closing customer service contract sales opportunities, while providing creative options for customers with the key being excellent customer service. Incumbent will also be responsible for the internal processing of customer purchase orders, service contract administration, and tracking as well as assisting with other types of service-related quotations.

 

This position is on-site, located in the Hamilton Storage headquarters facility in Franklin, Massachusetts.

  • Proactive in the engagement with customers to continue a relationship. Reach out at least 3 months prior to warranty or service contract expiration and present best-case quotations. If necessary, continue sales follow-up at 2 months and 1-month intervals to engage and encourage contract sale.
  • Consult and collaborate with internal sales team to discuss best-case quotations, creativity enhance the customer experience, consider objections, offer options, negotiate, and adjust quotations as required to secure a contract sale.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer data and post-sales support information in company CRM to maximize the productivity of our Sales and Service teams.
  • Secure necessary approvals and ensure the standard contract terms are followed.
  • Assist in processing sales orders in Microsoft D365 ERP.
  • Up-Sell the benefits of multi-year and coterminous contracts while proposing financing options.
  • Uncover additional sales/training opportunities when responding to quote requests and forward to the Sales team appropriately.
  • Assist the Service Department to create Technical Service quotes and process orders for time and materials repairs, service parts, etc. Use those situations to engage with the customer and discuss the benefits of activating a service contract once the instrument has been verified in working order by Hamilton Storage certified professionals.
  • Process customer purchase orders.
  • Track and administer service contracts.
  • Frequent (daily) verbal and written interactions with customers to obtain sale or support customer needs.
  • Serves as a backup for other Customer Service team members.
  • Ability to spot upsell or cross-sell opportunities
  • Ability to execute efficiently on multiple demands with high quality and accuracy within a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional grammar, written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaboration skills with customer personnel
  • Basic math and arithmetic skills
  • Proven track record of telephone and email sales closure
  • Perform additional tasks as needed and requested
  • Experience cultivating customer relationships though telephone, email and remote meetings
  • Strong skills working in a position that requires attention to details
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Possess active problem-solving and effective interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with a CRM system or ability to quickly learn
  • Confidence and strong self-assuredness to succeed in cold-calling customers to make a sale
  • Demonstarted ability to use remote meeting software (both audio and video functions) for customer sales and customer problem resolution meetings (Microsoft Teams preferred)
  • Strong organization and detail-oriented skills
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited, not-for-profit university or equivalent combination of  education , training, and  experience .
  • Experience in Life Sciences perferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of sales experience selling service contracts, contract renewals, creating quotations, and negotiating in sales situations
  • 1 - 2 years of service contract administration using an ERP system (Microsoft D365 preferred)
  • Experience with CRM (SalesForce preferred)
  • Proven track record of telephone and email sales closure
