GENERAL SUMMARY

TheSafety, Security and Maintenance Technicianis responsible for making sure the Delta Dental of Minnesota facility in Bemidji exceeds the safety, security and job performance needs of the employees. This position is accountable for services such as security, light maintenance, and other duties as required to maintain and improved the employee experience with the building. This position coordinates with the appropriate vendors for services such as cleaning, elevator maintenance, snow removal, landscaping, waste removal and other services as needed for the facility.

This position is offered by AbōvaTalent, LLC, a subsidiary of Stratacor and affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintain a safe work environment for Bemidji team members.
  2. Light maintenance work at the facility including hanging pictures, changing light bulbs, etc.
  3. Manage activities such as cleaning, waste disposal, vending, building security, snow removal, grounds maintenance, and HVAC and boiler maintenance including coordinating with vendors for work within the building.
  4. Maintain two low-pressure boilers on-site in conjunction with the Special Engineer boiler license or higher.
  5. Plan building maintenance and operations programs including soliciting bids for new services agreements and coordinating renewal service agreements.
  6. Coordinate acceptance of packages and outgoing mail.
  7. Answer incoming calls and transfer to appropriate contacts/departments.
  8. Order and maintain inventory of general supplies as well as office supplies for the building.
  9. Respond to the building after hours as needed to handle emergent situations involving burglary/fire alarms, allow law enforcement/fire department access, building issues, etc.
  10. Accompany employees to their vehicles as they leave the facility, when needed.
  11. Coordinate with neighboring businesses and/or law enforcement as needed related to mutual security concerns.
  12. Comply with all federal, state and local regulations through policy enforcement and reporting.
  13. Collect feedback from team members on their experience at the facility and provides suggestions on how to continually improve the employee experience.
  14. Other related duties as assigned.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Good verbal and written communication skills. Frequent communication with internal departments and external vendors is required.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  3. General knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc. for troubleshooting purposes.
  4. Knowledge of safety and security laws and regulations.
  5. Must have a high level of organizational skills and initiative to effectively perform multiple duties and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines.
  6. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  7. Required:Demonstrated full proof of vaccination against COVID-19 prior to the start date.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Well-versed in maintenance operations and best practices.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of security/facilities or applicable experience.
  4. A Special Engineer boiler license or higher; or able to obtain license within 3 months of hire.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Travel Requirements:For trainings as needed
  2. Weight Lifting Requirements:Light lifting requirements up to 50 lbs.
