Responsibilities:
- As a Safety Coordinator you will be responsible for maintain compliance with all plant safety environment programs, updating safety plans as needed including emergency response plan, PPE, lock out-tag out, hazard communication, confined space, bloodborne pathogens, hazard assessments, confined safe, and COVID-19 prevention.
- The ideal Safety coordinator will be required to coordinate agenda, maintain attendance records and meeting minutes, conduct periodic compliance audits, and document any findings by generating work order.
- Assist with administration of workers’ compensation claims such as recordkeeping, consulting.
- Responsible for overseeing compliance with regular inspections including fire equipment, emergency response vehicle components, AED units, hoists, ladders, eye wash stations and stored respirators. Will also work with maintenance on plant inspections.
- Ensure that relevant documents are kept current too including training records, environmental reports and state or federal documents.
- The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for initiating, coordinating, and conducting safety and health training, including weekly huddled meetings.
- Oversee new hire orientation and annual training of all plant employees, leading and conducting employee incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Maintain effective communication with the safety department and HR department.
- Responsible for ensuring all safety and environmental inspections, recordkeeping and reporting is done accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have experience in Food Manufacturing
- 3+ years of experience in Safety required.
- Must be able to work 11am-7:30pm
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations is required.
- Required to have the following Certifications: CPR/1st Aid/AED.
- Must be able to understand RMP and PSM.
- Verbal and written English fluency or Bilingual.
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
