Department: JDMS Human Resources/DiversityPosition Type: InternPosition Reports To: ManagerPosition Supervises: N/APay Level: InternFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPosition SummaryComplete an 8-10 week program designed to provide overview of store operations, marketing, merchandising, purchasing, supply chain management, financial analysis and human resources. The internship also offers job shadowing with store management, a designated retail project and the experience of working as part of an effective team. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.Essential Job FunctionsGain understanding of a favorable customer shopping experience, the importance of associate engagement in customer service/relations and how to role model the highest level of customer serviceGain understanding of how a store manager leads teams in the planning, implementation and execution of merchandising and operating initiativesGain understanding of how as store manager develops action plans and communications to store associatesTraining at multiple locations inclusive of retail stores, distribution and/or division officeComplete special assignments, as requestedCurate a cumulative retail project and present to division leadershipMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationMinimum Position QualificationsEnrolled in an accredited college or university with Junior or Senior standing; minimum 3.0 GPAExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to navigate change and respond to challenges with a positive demeanorDemonstrate initiative and to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a team environmentCommitment to providing superior customer serviceDesired Previous Experience/EducationInvolvement in leadership and community activitiesLeadership Behaviors: Achieves Results through Teamwork, Coaches and Develops Others, Communicates Effectively and Candidly, Executes with Excellence, Leads Change and Innovation, Leads through Positive Influence, Provides Clear and Strategic Direction, Puts the Customer First.
