JOB SUMMARY
To assist the bartender as needed with opening and closing duties and maintain cleanliness during his/her shift. Prepare coffee, iced tea as needed restock ice-bin, restock bar condiments as needed including cleaned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.
· Opening duties, including preparing freshly brewed coffee and iced tea.
· Maintains proper and adequate amounts of clean glassware.
· Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
· Running food from the kitchen as needed.
· Cleaning and setting bar tables, cleaning all soiled glassware from the bar and delivering them to the steward department.
· Maintaining proper ice levels in the ice bin
· Changing syrup boxes for bar beverage as needed.
· Changing beer kegs as needed.
· Prepares coffee and soft drinks for guests as needed or requested by the bartender
· Assist bartenders with closing duties and the end of his/her shift.
· If his/her shift ends in the middle of the day, insures leaving the bar properly restocked and set up for the pm bar-back.
· Assist bartenders with request from the store room, such full bottles of wine liquor, beer, mixers..
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Hold a current Food Handler Card
· Must have basic knowledge of soft drink beverage preparation and service of various beverages.
· Basic English language communication writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions and other assigned duties.
· Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
· Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
· Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
· Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.
· Able to practice safety first, for self, coworkers and customer
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
· Lifting Thirty (30) pounds maximum.
· Constant standing & walking required
· Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
